Babies!

It seems like everyone is having babies or getting pregnant! I just wanted to remind all you baby crazy people that there are some super freakin cute handmade gifts over at The Tinderbox! If you are in the Houston area you should definitely stop by. The owners are super cool and they love the local artists. They have beautiful jewelry, amazing art, really cool home goods, and the cutest kids section (my fluffies are there!). There's even really fun workshops. I have wanted to sign up for a few but now that I live far I haven't been able to :( Before or after taking a look at all the handmade awesomeness, you should eat next door at Natachee's. YUM! I love that area and need to go by SOON!

Where do you like to shop in Houston for the little ones?

Fluffy Friday

Today is CRAZY due to the horrible weather. I've been screamed at, cussed at, and threatened by a patient this morning.  I've only been at work for an hour. This made me smile. ..

Weekly Thought & Motivation Project by Sealed with a Kay

Sealed With a Kay

Have you checked out Kayla's blog? She lives in the Houston area too! She's super sweet and super awesome for coming up with this 52 week project. I am working on being more organized with this blog and my small business. This project definitely helps with that! Each month, Kayla posts weekly topics to talk about. I'm going to try to join in!

Week 3 (1/20/14)
  1. Messy or Neat? - I am a neat freak at work but I can get pretty messy at home. My messy is not folding or hanging clean laundry for a week. I HATE putting my clothes away. I'm not sure why haha I tend not to make my bed either. My pup is in my bed all day and I know he likes to snuggle under the blankets. This year I am determined to be neat at home too!
  2. On a scale from 1-10 how healthy are you? (10 being in great health) - I would guess I'm a 7. I've always been pretty healthy. I love healthy food (as well as some pretty unhealthy foot!). I've been HORRIBLE at working out though. I've recently posted about the fact that I'm sooo fluffy. Since Jan 2 of this year, I have been on a great schedule and I'm keeping up with it! I'm hoping to get closer to a 10 soon!
  3. What can you do to improve your health this week? - I can continue doing T25 five days a week and continue with my 30 day yoga challenge. I need to keep up with my meal planning and portion control. I have been eating clean and natural foods!

Would you like to participate in the Weekly Thought & Motivation Project with Kayla? Be sure to check her out :)

Happy birthday Gma!

She's my favorite person in the entire world. My mother was not around when I growing up, but my grandma was always there. She was always there to spoil me. I swear I never walked out of a store without a present :) I'm her first grandbaby and she still treats me like I'm her favorite. We do so much together.  She's there for every important thing I do. She's my biggest supporter. I love her :)

I like the idea of cute pictures of fluffy things for a happy Friday.  This is my favorite fluffy thing in the whole wide world - Brody. He's my baby :)

I'm Sooo Fluffy

I am sooo fluffy guys...

One of my resolutions is to work out. I have been doing a 30 day yoga challenge and did some Turbo Fire with my bestie in Fort Worth this weekend. She recently became a Beachbody coach and is making great changes for herself and others! She's convinced me to try shakeology. I've had two shakes so far and they were pretty good! I did some grocery shopping so I can't wait to try out some of the other recipes. My aunt and I are using portion control and eating clean. I even bought new tupperware to get organized. I've got a Pinterest board for healthy recipes. I got a new calandar/checklist app that makes me smile with each reminder on my new phone :)

I even ordered these! I really cannot allow myself to come up with any excuses. My friend even got me to join a challenge group with her to keep me motivated and accountable. Let me tell you, having Jessi take my measurements and stepping on that scale was NOT fun.I am determined to get those numbers down! She has inspired to make a plan and stick to it!

Are you trying to be a healthier you this year? What changes are you making in 2014?

This year I will...

I will be organized - I have made a schedule for blogging, sewing, eating, working out, social networking, etc. I WILL keep up with this schedule.
I will save money - I have set up an auto draft out of my paycheck. It is a small amount for now, but I plan on increasing it.
I will send more snail mail - It makes me happy. I want to make others happy. I'm on the hunt for cute stationary!
I will enroll in classes - I will do this before the summer. I need to finish up some classes so I can apply to a healthcare administration program.
I will improve my business - I will actually produce my ideas and sell them. It is in my schedule.
I will print out and frame pictures - I finally bought myself a picture frame and put some of my favorite people in it right above my tv. It makes me smile EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I want more.
I will eat clean - My aunt and I have decided to cut out processed foods.
I will work out six times per week - I've started a 30 day yoga challenge. There's an elliptical in our living room. My apartment has a gym. I cannot be lazy anymore.

I've printed out this little collage I made and taped it to my closet door. We'll see how the year goes. I'll keep you updated :)

What are your goals for this year?

Happy New Year!

 photo 01-01-14_zps274af66d.jpg

I cannot believe how quick 2013 went by. A lot has happened. I'm glad to be starting the new year well. I took my first vacation day from work in the last six months to road trip to Austin to spend new year's eve with my wifey (bestie) Mel. I tried REALLY hard not to wake up early, but my crazy body is so used to waking up for work. I headed out to Austin and got there by noon. I went out to lunch with Mel and her boyfriend. Sooo yummy. Then we did a little shopping for booze and watched a few halves of movies. We went out for a yummy dinner then met up with a couple friends at a bar close by. It was COLD. The bar was mainly outdoors so they had those super cool fire lamps and even fire pits scattered around the property. We huddled around those and talked to some interesting people. We were approached and asked if we could be kissed at midnight. It was very odd. haha Some people really have no shame. A little before midnight we went to the bar where my wifey's boyfriend works. Free drinks are AWESOME! We stuck around there til after 3 AM just talking to some hilarious people. I really am surprised I didn't just pass out there. I'm getting too old for staying up past midnight! ha. Our after party consisted of cooking breakfast and watching Monsters University at 4 AM. We're crazy huh? I'm pretty sure I fell asleep close to 5 AM then ended up waking up at 9 AM. Whyyyy won't my body let me sleep? We got to be super lazy and play with the puppies while watching more halves of movies. We even took a ride to Whataburger to pick up lunch in our jammies because there was no way we were going to put any effort into getting dressed and being presentable out in the world. Mel tried to convince me to take the rest of the week off work. Oh how I wish I could!

I had so much fun and ate and drank as much junk as possible before the new year haha I had to get it all over with before getting started on my goals. My goals for the year: be more organized, live a healthier lifestyle, develop and stick to a work out routine, save money, and enroll in classes to finish up school. We'll see how it goes!

How did you spend your new year's eve? What are you goals or resolutions for 2014?
