2012 Disney Family Vacation – Universal Studios

Not only did we get to go to all four Disney theme parks, but we ALSO got to go to both parks at Universal Studios Resort. We were some exhausted but happy people. As you can see, I got to meet some fun characters. I was SOOO happy to see Scooby! Actually, I cut Shaggy out of my picture because he looked kind of weird. The Simpsons were pretty cool. They were so HUGE though. haha I walked up to them and was like damn. I know I’m short but jeez. The Mummy ride turned out to be our favorite. It was pretty awesome. Plus, we were freezing so the fire during that ride felt so great. I was incredibly disappointed that we missed the minions though :( They only had two specific times for them to be out taking pictures. We missed both of the times due to waiting in line for rides. Our poor feet! It was bad. While we were walking around it wasn’t a huge deal, but as soon as we had to stand in a line it was like they were dying. Even though we missed seeing the giant minions to take pictures with, we did get to go in the “ride”. It was hilarious. Then I saw a shirt that had my shop name on it! That made me smile :) And my gma bought me a little stuffed minion!

Is one of your dreams in life to meet the minions?

2012 Disney Family Vacation – Magic Kingdom!

Oh my goodness I love this place! I honestly think adults have more fun here than kids do. My brothers sure did prove my point (see the picture of us on the train?). Ha. That train picture was actually fun and my brother was just joking around making crappy faces. I got to meet Mickey AND Minnie :D Many many people complimented my Minnie ears and even called me Minnie. Was always funny. Except when one guy gave me the kind of attention I was NOT looking for. Guys can be so gross. OH! The ice cream there was THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD. They make the waffle cone right there in front of your eyes. A girl’s entire life was dedicated to making waffle cones on that waffle iron. Okay, maybe not her ENTIRE life. But a good portion of it. She was awesome. Random memory: I love that everyone that works at the Disney parks wears a nametag with the location of where they are originally from. For example, when we ate at that amazing Japanese restaurant at Epcot, all of the waitresses were actually from Japan. The ice cream dudes were from Haiti and the chick taking our order was from Portugal. Too cool huh?! It was also very odd that we rarely heard anyone speaking English. There were all kinds of languages I’ve never heard before. I also remember seeing a kid FREAK out over some pigeons. They took pictures of them and were following them around and gave them a cookie. Like they were the coolest things on the planet. I asked my dad if they had pigeons everywhere. Apparently not. I see pigeons the size of turkeys in my parking garage everyday at work. Not impressed. OOOh, The sparkly castle was SOOO cool! They even did some crazy light effects to make the castle turn a bazillion different colors and even played clips of Disney movies on it! Freakin amazing.

Have you been to the Magic Kingdom? PLEASE go there someday if you haven’t!

I love Animal Kingdom!!!! It is seriously such an awesome place! The animals are so cool, and it is CRAZY how close you get! If those lions would have been awake during our safari ride I’m SURE they would’ve eaten us. The giraffes! OMG THE GIRAFFES! There were so many! I love them :) They were just walking around, eating trees and watching us. Amazing. I got to see a gorgeous owl up close! And they were taking care of a turtle in their lil hospital. Super cute. Oh, I also met an opossum named Penelope. She was so ugly that she was cute.

What is your favorite animal?

Day 2 consisted of seeing a live performance of Beauty and the Beast (my ABSOLUTE favorite), FINALLY having some funnel cake and hot chocolate, seeing amazing lights and riding fun rides. A really awesome one was Star Tours. A large group of people board a star wars spaceship with C3PO and R2D2 and lots of simulated 3D action. I think that was my favorite. The Indiana Jones stunt show was pretty badass too!

Ever been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios?

2012 Disney Family Vacation – Epcot

Did you have an awesome Christmas?! I sure did. My family took a 19 drive out to Florida to spend 7 days of Disney awesomeness :) I seriously thought I was going to die on the drive out there. We left about 4:30pm from Houston and made it to the condo in Kissimmee, FL at about 11am. We pretty much drove in the dark the entire way. It was AWFUL! My dad drove most of the way. He finally got tired around 2am so it was my turn. My eyes hurt from staring into the darkness. Also, driving the speed limit (which was usually around 75mph) was SCARY! I was convinced a deer would leap out in front of us and we were all going to die. Thankfully, that didn’t happen. We would also later find out (on the way home) that Florida puts up gates alllllllllll along the trees on the highway to prevent that very thing from happening. Pretty awesome. Why don’t we do that in Texas?

Since I got my new phone I got to get all the awesome android apps back! Instagram makes me happy :) You should totally follow me: @vmarie4444

Here’s some shots of our first day of Disney awesomeness: Epcot.
epcot
It was pretty awesome there. Very interesting and informative. Had AMAZING Japanese food. Found my most favorite cup I’ll ever own in my entire life (I’m sure of it). We also experienced a ride that we will NEVER EVER ride again if given the chance. Mission Space. OH MY GOSH. It was pure hell. It’s a simulated spaceship ride to Mars. Of course we didn’t think anything of it when they said pick a less intense version (green line) or the more intense version (orange line). We went through the orange line. BAD IDEA. We continued to warn people to not get on that ride every chance we got when chatting up nice strangers during the rest of the week. ha. I’m so not meant to be an astronaut.
Have you been to Disney Epcot??
