On My Wishlist - Fit Bit Surge

 photo fitbitsurge_zpse23ee578.jpg

One of my goals this year is to run. I'm not a runner. I've never been excited about running. I hated it all through playing sports in school. However, I've always wanted to love running. It seems people either love it or hate it. I want to love it! My Aunt is sooo in love with running. She does like 50,000 miles a week. Okay, not really. She gets so excited about it! I don't plan on doing any marathons like she does, but I want to start small. I really really really want the new Fit Bit Surge when it comes out. It has EVERYTHING. I've been wanting a new watch for a while. I have a heart rate monitor and I have a fit bit, however I want to only wear one thing daily. I don't like having to switch it up. I also know there's plenty of free apps on my phone if I want to deal with that, but I don't haha I have some gift cards saved up and plan on using my holiday pay to purchase this baby as soon as it is released! This will help keep me motivated and track my progress. I've decided to try to spend money only on healthy things this year and put as much as possible into savings. I have a family trip to Hawaii planned for this winter! I also really need to get my butt to New York (I've been saying that for years).

What do you plan on spending your money on this year?

2014 was pretty good to me. I made some positive changes. I focused on myself. I lost 30 lbs, got healthier, was brave enough to get on one of those damn dating sites and my honey found me :) I had some great times with friends and family. I am so looking forward to 2015. Next year I will: RUN. Get into a size 8. Save money. Send more snail mail. Travel.

How was your year? What will you be doing next year?

NOLA

Instagram

I finally got to visit New Orleans!! Selina and I decided on a fun weekend away for her birthday. She's been to New Orleans before, but didn't get to have the whole experience. We left early Friday morning and got there about noonish. We got to check in early! We stayed at the crowne plaza right on canal and bourbon. We immediately wanted something awesome to eat. We decided on a little bar down the road. We had alligator sausage po boys! They were so damn delicious! Friday was her birthday so I told her to pick dinner. Of course, she wanted nasty oysters! I like oysters if they're fried or baked. I can't eat that gooey mess haha We went to Acme for dinner and it was pretty good. The rest of the trip we basically walked everywhere and ate as much as our tummies could handle haha

A few shop workers and other locals directed us to some great places. Everyone was super nice! My favorite place was Petite Amelie. It's a cute little cafe. It was the only place we went to more than once. I also really loved Cafe Du Monde! It was so yummy!  My favorite purchase was my owl purse!! I didn't even see it until my friend pointed it out. It is handmade! I absolutely love it :)

It was exhausting but totally fun. I would really love to go back!

Have you ever been to New Orleans?

Reindeer Ornaments

This is my desk at work today. I love being able to sew in between patients. My supervisor and manager don't mind at all because I always have the best numbers in our department. So I get to do a little work at work :) Last year so many people said I didn't have enough of these little guys. This year I think I should have plenty haha I've been much better at getting prepared for the holidays this year. I'm hoping my shows go well!

Do you usually prepare for the holidays early or do you wait until the last possible minute?

Weekend

My weekend was full of this beautifulness. I miss it. The weather was amazing and the sky was sooo gorgeous! Took the pups to the park to walk a few miles then socialize with other pups at the dog park. It was so nice and relaxing. We then spent some much needed time at our pool. I got some silly tan lines. This weekend my little cousins are coming to town so we can celebrate them turning 21! We will start Saturday by going to the park to do our own little 5k. Then we'll head back to our apartment to start grilling then have some drinks and sing some karaoke! Should be a fun weekend :)

What are your weekend plans?

#imsooofluffy update

Sooo I suck at blogging.

I have been sewing, I promise! I am getting ready for a few shows coming up this fall. I have also been doing pretty well at keeping up with the whole eating right and working out routine. Pretty well. We finished the Biggest Loser Challenge at work last week. I won :) I could have done way better, but over the last month I have been going out of town a lot and that really messes up my eating and workout schedule. I know it shouldn't. But it really really does. I only lost 11 lbs...but I kept it off! haha I'm doing much better now. I've really started noticing differences. I put on some jeans that used to be too tight and that made me happy :D

Let's see if I can keep this up...

Mother's Day Afternoon Tea

Mother's day was so fun! I got up early to workout with my aunt then spent the rest of the day with my Gma. We went to Hotel Granduca and had afternoon tea! I didn't even know that such a thing happened here! Haha The hotel was beautiful,  and everyone there was super sweet. The tea was AMAZING and the food was PERFECT.  My Gma loved every second of it and she was so cute and all excited. That evening,  my dad made ribs, steak, and lobster! My Gma was spoiled and it was great :)
