My first craft fair!
A few weeks ago, I got an email on Etsy inviting me to join a craft fair. Maison Market is an awesome boutique in Old Town Spring , TX. I was so excited and so nervous at the same time! I’ve never done a craft fair before! Danielle was so nice and helpful so I felt at ease. I got even more excited when I visited the boutique this weekend :) They have amazing products there! It smelled wonderful, looked great and the ladies there were absolutely sweet. They have a courtyard around their boutique that seems like a great little set up for a craft fair. I immediately started researching craft fairs on Pinterest to get ideas. On Sunday I even found some AWESOME wire baskets to display my fluffies in my booth. I really do love the Home Goods store.
I have LOTS of sewing to do to get prepared for November 17th. I’ll be keeping everyone updated on the craft fair and if you’re in the area I really hope you can stop by!
Any advice for a first time craft fair participator?

I did my first ones this past summer....my best tips?
ReplyDeleteMake sure to keep business cards in your pocket at all times. You could be walking around and make some of the best contacts/future sales.
Try to wear/use one piece of what you're selling. Example? I make bobby pins & headbands (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Scarlett-Key/265951300134959) so I made sure I wore bobby pins every day.
Make sure to build up as well as out. I saw a definite increase in sales when my tabletop displays went up so people could see from a distance.
If you take custom orders, make sure to have a sign or have it on your cards.
If there is something you can work on during down times, do it! I crochet for my shop so I made sure I had a hook and some yarn just to keep my hands busy and to open the lines of communication with my customers!
GOOD LUCK! :)
Thank you so much! I know I planned on having business cards for people to pick up, but I didn't really think about having them myself to give out. Great tip! I appreciate you taking the time to share with me :)
